Most Spaniards prefer not to drink alcohol during air travel
Published: 10/11/2015

The majority of Spaniards (56%) do not see the need to drink alcohol during air travel, the country's news agencies reported, citing data from the consulting company YouGov. They were based on a survey conducted in London City Airport. The bulk of the respondents, as well as the airport and passengers account for business travelers.
The authors of the survey determined that inhabitants of the northern regions of Spain are less likely to drink alcohol while traveling than natives of other regions. For example, 52% of northerners do not like to drink during the flight, 46% believe that this can lead to problems, and 64% simply do not see such a need.
As regards age limits, the young people aged 18 to 24 years was the most reasonable: young Spaniards understand that drinking alcohol on the plane can lead to problems (45%), while the passengers over 55 years, this question is not too worried ( 29%).
Preferences and habits of tourists vary by country. For residents of the UK and Ireland have assured that they try not to get drunk, but 24% of them regularly take alcohol at the airport. In Spain, the figure is only 10%, while in Italy - 7%.
Only 2% of Spaniards admit that they got drunk at the airport. Another 2% fingered alcohol directly on the plane, and for 3% of the respondents alcohol is an integral part of the journey. In the case of Ireland, the figures are 15% and 16%, respectively, and is probably due to the fact that its inhabitants are less afraid of problems: it stops 34% of Spaniards, while among the Irish, the figure is 26%. Furthermore, only 5% of alcohol Spain considered acceptable at the airport, while among Irish this figure reaches 19%.
Another interesting fact is that men while traveling drink more than women: for example, in Spain, the percentage of those who make use of alcohol at the airport, is 13% in men and 6% among women, but an even bigger gap seen in Netherlands - 25% versus 11%.
