The coast of Castellón of "Costa de Azahar" - that means "a flower of an orange tree"
Benikassim – the city is located in 13 km to the north from Castellón, height over the sea of 15 meters. The name comes from Arab and matters "Kasimm's Children"
The space of the territory is occupied 36.1 sq.km, by the Population of 18206 people (2012)

Santo Tomas Street (Saint Thomas) is the main city street which also is the most recovered because of the numerous restaurants located on it, bars, cafe, perfumery shops, hairdressing salons etc.
On this street the parish church (1769-1776), in style of neoclassicism, in honor of Saint Thomas and opposite, the Lord's source is constructed.
In a zone Las Palmas is located the monastery of barefoot Carmelites (s. XVII), the museum in which exhibits of religious objects are treats it the monks who are of historical value, books, relics and primitive tools, with which began in 1896, production of the well-known liqueur of Carmelites.
In Benikassim it is possible to see the lock remains Worcester (s. X) and on the embankment, an old watchtower of San Vicente (well I remained).
In the zone known as Las-Vilyas stand majestic houses s. XIX, stretching on the embankment and kept thanks to the special plan for protection of historical buildings.
On this coastal zone, at the end of the XIX century, bourgeois families started building numerous country houses of Castellón and Valencia, property. Pilar's country house belonging to the builder of the railroad became the first of them, is constructed in 1887. After it many others followed, for example Willa Victoria or Willa Elisa, now they belong to the city and are venues of conferences and seminars. Other of these country houses were transformed to cafeterias, as Willa Ana or Willa Maria or to magnificent restaurant, as Vilya-del-Mar. The great attention was drawn to himself by Benikasim in a beginning of the century, thanks to board Levant of Biarritz. In Benikasim's center there is Plasa - Los - Dolores, in summer hot evenings people gather here to do some shopping, to sit at restaurants and to take pleasure in pleasant music.
Benikasim's geography allocates three oblasti:zon of the city, a zone of country houses and coastal areas and the zone Las Palmas. The zone of country houses with its numerous residences of page XIX, is completely equipped with tourist infrastructure: hotels, restaurants, campings, night clubs, bars and cafe, rehabilitation center, hostel. The coastal zone shares on five beaches: Voramar, Almadraba, San Vicente, Els Terrers and Geliopolis, on all beaches fine sand, numerous supervision, cleaning, access for the public, shower and animators of tourists in summer months. These beaches received a blue flag distinction in recent years. (To many beaches of Castellón awarded the blue flag which is given out by the European fund of ecological education for an excellent condition of sea water and rendering of services.) The zone Las Palmas is the reserve and offers a big variety of aromatic plants and breeds of trees.
